Pressure Washing Myths in Apollo Beach

In this video we discuss 5 common myths that oftentimes is misunderstood with what we do. This video was filmed in MiraBay at my friend Heather’s house where we cleaned, sanded, and sealed her patio and lanai pavers and performed some pressure washing around her home.

Myth 5: Only pressure wash when things get dirty.

This is not true. We have seen time and time again that if you wait too long to pressure wash your exteriors you have waited too long. We have seen mold, grime, and debris wreak havoc on paint that when we cleaned someone’s home the organic growth actually took the paint off because it adhered to the paint. Also, we have seen streaking from when the growth was on the paint for so long that when we washed it, the paint in that area was darker because it was shaded and the other areas on the house were lighter from fading in the harsh Florida sun. Also when you allow algae, mold, and debris to get so bad on flat surfaces like your driveway and sidewalks, it can create a slipping hazard and cause serious potential injuries.

Myth 4: My Pressure Washer is Just as good as Yours

It could be, but do you know how to use it correctly? Our commercial equipment is designed to put out twice or sometimes almost three times the amount of water that an average store box bought pressure washer can produce. We have attended trainings, researched, and educated ourselves to use our equipment safely and effectively. We can save you lots of time by letting the professionals handle all of your pressure washing needs.

Myth 3: Detergents aren’t necessary

Do you wash your dishes or clothes without soap or detergents? No, they are necessary to break the surface tension that may be stuck to you clothes or dishes. We have found that if you just pressure wash with water alone, the debris, mold, algae will come right back shortly after especially living in the Florida climate. We also use commercial contractor detergents that are made specifically for our industry. We have the education and training to know how to safely and effectively use the right type and amount of detergents to give you the desired outcome. We are professionals. You don’t hire us to pressure wash, you hire us to know-how.

Myth 2: Everything can be Pressure Washed

Not everything! You have to be very careful and know what can be pressure washed. Alot of front patio and lanais in Florida tend to have drywall and wood for their ceilings. Those types of ceilings we encounter require a special type of cleaning that does not involve using a pressure washer. You have to be very careful on how much pressure is used when washing lanai and pool screens, a house, and even a driveway. Leave it up to a professional to know when and how to pressure wash your investments.

Myth 1: The Higher the Pressure the Better the Results

Actually it’s the complete opposite. The more pressure you apply to a surface the more damage could happen. More pressure doesn’t mean more clean. We have found that using our softwash technique and commercial grade detergents that we can safely and effectively clean and protect your investments.
