During the winter months, the touch tank at the Manatee Viewing Center is home to 13 cownose rays. The rays were born in human care and were transported to the facility by a team of biologists.
A team of animal care experts maintain the water in the tank at 78 degrees. The rays are given 10- or 15-minute breaks every hour. During the breaks, two representatives of the aquarium will answer visitor questions.
